Padayatra America 2004 #7From Avadhuta Siromani dasaPosted May 16, 2005
October 3–After three months of resting and gearing up, with the horses shoed and healthy-hoofed, we left Los Indios. During this period, many people had the opportunity to come in touch with the Lord and render some aspect of devotional service towards the mission, some more than others. Padayatra America 2004, #6From Avadhuta Siromani DasaPosted Dec. 7, 2004July/August We are resting Kana and Balaji after a season of heavy work on the hoof. Mr. Muller had offered to let us stay on his land, close to the border, some 30 kilometers from Matamoros. He had told us it was a remote place, that the land hadn't been used in quite some years, but we certainly weren't expecting anything so primitive. From Avadhuta Siromani Dasa Posted Nov. 29, 2004 June / July The next step was to start organizing veterinary papers so that by the time we reached the border the tests would be complete and we wouldn't have to stop for a quarantine. Moving south. We were hoping to be in Mexico the first week of July.

America 2004, #4 June 8–13 We were coming close to the Peninsula of Bolivar. Being near the beach meant wind, sand, and swamps with thousands of mosquitoes. There is an epidemic there, and we, including the horses, had had a few nights of difficult sleep. One night we saw a black cloud next to the wagon, six feet long and four feet wide. We had never seen anything like that before. From Avadhuta Siromani Dasa Posted Nov. 23, 2004 April 8-22 We crossed the state line into Alabama on the 17th, and kept moving steadily. The dealings with people were sweet. The people were simple and appreciative of a message about how to live a God-centered life. We saw that after speaking with us they would warm up, seeing that we are not bad people. We heard many say, "There are bad folks around." By Avadhuta Siromani Dasa and Candrabhaga Devi Dasi Posted November 19, 2004 Avadhuta Siromani April 5– Still cold at night—35 degrees farenheit. We entered Jefferson County, Florida, and the sheriff came. We explained the program, and he sincerely appreciated it. The next day, after nine miles, we reached the village of Hosford, and there the sheriff had arranged a program for us at the school to speak to all the kids, maybe 200, about what we are doing.
Padayatra America 2004 #1 November 15-Dec-Jan-Feb 15 Three months in New Raman Reti [Florida]. The winter is coming to an end, and soon the mercy of the Lord will be on the road again. During this time we have been doing local parikramas every weekend, leaving Saturday and returning to the temple on Sunday. The participation has been excellent (100-150 devotees). News from Padayatra—At Last Posted November 17, 2004 Have you been wondering what has
happened to Padayatra America? I have
just received seven installments of the
journal for 2004. A little late but
still sweet. |
