Dear Maharajas and
Prabhus
Please accept my
humble obeisances. All
glories to Srila
Prabhupada
In his final letter to
the Vaisnava community,
H.H. Bhakti Tirtha Swami
mentioned that all the
remaining laksmi from
what had been donated to
him for his medical
expenses would be put
into a fund to provide
grants of $1000 to $3000
to devotees requiring
financial assistance with
their health care.

All glories to
Srila Prabhupada! |

Dear Maharajas,
Prabhus and Disciples
Please accept my
humble obeisances. All
glories to Srila
Prabhupada.
This is the final
letter that I will be
sending out. Our movement
is like a young adult.
There are many things
that everyone
experiences, individuals
as well as institutions,
that are part of the
maturation process. As we
grow, we also have to
deal with growth pains.
Often after these growth
pains we experience the
greatest benefits from
our struggles, just like
a mother who is pregnant
and who is bringing forth
children. Each time
before she gives birth
she has to deal with
almost unbearable
challenges.

Riddha Dasa Adhikari
presents an article by
Bhakti-Tirtha Swami

From Riddha Prabhu:
I first came in
contact with Bhakti
Tirtha Swami in Chicago
around about 1974.
Maharaja was then named
Ghanasyama dasa
Brahmacari. It was while
I was stationed at the O’
Hare Airport in Chicago
working for the BBT that
I was fortunate enough to
become a close Godbrother
and friend.

the
stage for his final offering

Dear Maharajas, Prabhus, and disciples
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
glories to Srila Prabhupada.
This is probably the penultimate special
message of wisdom from the ground hog aka
the beggar aka spiritual warrior. So let
this prepare you for the ultimate message.
(smile) You can see that this kind of
communication that I am doing must actually
come to a stop. First because it is natural,
for I definitely have to get out of this
body some time in the near future, but also
because if I am not careful, this sort of
communication could become my biggest
failure.

Dear Maharajas, Prabhus, and Disciples,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am like the groundhog that lives in the
ground and every now and then pokes his head
out of the ground. I am like the guy who's
being stubborn about death, who every now
and then sticks his head out (just like the
groundhog) and tries to share something.

Dear Disciples and Well Wishers,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I want to apologize, as I won't be able
to travel to visit any of you in your
various temples and projects. The cancer is
spreading every day. The tumors in my body
are also getting larger every day. My main
personal caretaker at this time in
addressing issues with my body is Dhruva
Maharaja Dasa from South Africa. He
literally sleeps in the room with me every
night.

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
glories to ISKCON Founder Acharya Srila
Prabhupada.
Sending updates is rather difficult
because there is always some good news, some
surprises, and seemingly bad news. My
situation changes from day to day.
Before leaving Hawaii, I was admitted
again into the hospital for six days, having
to undergo blood transfusions and a host of
other tests. Upon returning to Dasaratha's
house, I took a few steps on my crutches and
immediately collapsed.

Dear Maharajas and Other Devotees,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
glories to ISKCON founder-acarya Srila
Prabhupada!
By now you have heard that I had to go
back into the hospital. During my stay
there, I received two blood transfusions and
a series of additional tests. The sonogram
and catscans gave us information of what is
directly going on with the cancer. The other
tests were to find out why I am always
extremely tired and having constant
breathing problems. I seem to be always
gasping for breath, even when I brush my
teeth or shave. The foot is still
swelling. Actually I am unable to walk due
to pain in the foot and the breathing
problem.

Dear
Maharaja and Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to ISKCON Founder Acharya
Srila Prabhupada.
My personal update.
I have completed my first few weeks of intensive treatments in Mexico. They
went from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Eight hours each day I was on IV, which
administers different solutions through a catheter, which was inserted into my
chest.

Maharajas and Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to ISKCON Founder Acarya
Srila Prabhupada.
Yesterday after a team of doctors reviewed all of my test results, the
spokesperson informed me of the need for immediate amputation, chemotherapy,
radiation, etc. He also stated that there is a need for another biopsy operation
to take out some of the lymph nodes that seem to be also diseased by cancer.
They could give no guarantees of the results of the treatment.

Bhakti Tirtha Swami
Critically Sick
Posted August 17, 2004From a
letter by Bhakti Caru Swami, written to the GBC, now being circulated
I did not phone Bhakti Tirtha Maharaj yesterday, thinking that I would rather
wait until he gets the pathologist's report. However, in the evening, I received
a phone call from one of Maharaj's disciples, Citi-sakti devi dasi, who is a
doctor herself. In a voice choked with emotion, she informed me that she just
learned from one of her Godsisters in Washington that Maharaj's report says that
his cancer is on level four plus. I did not know what that count meant, but I
could understand that it must be quite ominous.
