letters of heartfelt praise for Srila
Prabhupada, your hair would stand on
end.
Atlanta
Prison Ministries Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Please accept my obeisances, all the devotees who read this page. My name is Bhakta Chris Matthews, and I am managing the ISKCON Atlanta prison ministries. We have recently been in contact and are working in conjunction with Chandrasekhara Prabhu of the main ISKCON prison ministries. We need devotees who would be willing to render service to Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada by corresponding with devotees that have been made by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada while incarcerated in our nation’s various penal institutions. Mahabharata
Play for Next Year Hare Krsna! We are proud to announce that Mahabharata
is being produced in conjunction with
the Gorilla Theater Company of Kansas
City, Missouri, in the fall of 2003.
This is the first time to our knowledge
that a supposedly non-devotional theater
company is becoming involved with a
devotional play.

Bhaktivedanta
College Opens Under the auspices and direction of the GBC Ministry of Educational Development, Bhaktivedanta College, at Radhadesh, in Belgium, opened in late September and launched a systematic training program to create preachers, teachers, and leaders throughout our movement. Fiji
Web Site
Dear Prabhus and Matajis, I am happy to announce that ISKCON Fiji now has its own web site. The site address is www.iskconfiji.com. A group of devotees have started the site on their own initiative. It is very simple right now but it will grow slowly. We will put an open forum in there too. Share
Your Experiences Calling All Devotees, Do you have an inspiring story to share? A realization to convey? Wisdom gained through life experience? Maybe even a supernatural experience to reveal? My name is Radha dasi, and I am in the process of publishing a book. Your input would be greatly appreciated, and will be the crux of my work. Therefore, you are invited to contact Radha McAlpine with any and all first hand knowledge. Please pass on this message so that others may know of this as well. Coming
to Terms with the Past 25 Years November 14, 1977. Twenty-five years. A quarter century. The day our world stopped. At the time, I had collected almost enough money to get to India from Vancouver. Srila Prabhupada's health had been deteriorating, and I was anxious to get to Vrindavan as soon as possible. Another week, and I'd be ready to go. But then the phone call came. Prabhupada had left his body. Words can't describe the devastation that we all felt. Hearts broke and tears flowed everywhere. The universe was in sorrow. The pure devotee of Lord Krsna had left the planet. We had lost our master, our protector, and our ever well-wisher. Suddenly the universe became cold and dark, and all hope instantly fled from our lives. How could we go on without Prabhupada? It was inconceivable. Sponsors
Needed for Children's Books
Vedic Arts, a publishing house of children's books based on the teachings of Srila Prabhupada, has already produced many books, and there are more to be published and distributed. We need sponsors who would like to contribute for a good cause to educate children all over the world. Srila Prabhupada said, "Books
are the basis" and "Child is
the father of [the] man." We need
good books to lay a good foundation for
children from the very beginning, and we
need good men and women as exemplary
leaders and administrators of the world
in the future. Then the Krishna
Consciousness movement will continue for
10,000 years, as Prabhupada desired.
This is his vision and he has given the
program.
The
Bhagavad-Gita Project: A Christmas
Present for Srila Prabhupada Dear Prabhus and Matajis, Please accept my humble obeisances. I'm going to ask you for your help and support. We would like to realize a really big project: donating Bhagavad-gita as It Is to every public library in Poland. Then every single citizen will have access to the Gita. It can change the face of the entire nation. And we hope it can please Srila Prabhupada also, whose desire was to distribute his books. Honoring
Srila Prabhupada's 25th Disappearance
Anniversary Dear Respected Devotees and Friends, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Devotees in every Vaisnava group or association worldwide can all agree that Srila Prabhupada's service to both his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada, and Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is extraordinary and of the highest caliber of pure devotion. Srila Prabhupada has made Vaisnava history by introducing the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra throughout the world, establishing over one hundred temples, and publishing over eighty books of transcendental knowledge for the benefit of humankind. His achievements and glories are unlimited due to his pure unalloyed love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. Interfaith
in Toronto:
The Interfaith Universal Peace Festival — an annual event that takes place in Toronto during summer along with other multi-faith and multi-cultural events in the city:ISKCON was invited to attend and present a peace formula from the Hindu tradition. I gave a short talk on who we are and what we practice and quoted from Bhagavad Gita As It Is, the peace formula given to us by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna. And
That’s a Fact I was watching some Srila Prabhupada videos the other night, which is a very enlivening experience for me because I never personally met Srila Prabhupada but felt as if I had after imbibing his wonderful purports to Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam etc. these past 23 years. I was never formally initiated because I was in household life but lived near the Los Angeles temple for 14 years (1980-1994), so it was as though I were "in" the movement although not living in the temple. I came to ISKCON and Krsna consciousness when I was 33 years old. Prior to that, I did a short stint in Muktananda’s ashram in New York City, so there were aspects of Indian religion that were not foreign to me. Pujaris
Needed in Toronto This is an open invitation to North American devotees. Please join us in serving Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Ksir-cora Gopinatha at New Remuna Dham in Toronto. In Toronto we have three sets of Deities— Wonderful Sri-Sri Gaura-Nitai; Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra; and the presiding Deities, Sri Sri Radha Ksir-cora Gopinatha. Siksa
or Diksa Sampradaya? Dear devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Can we call our sampradaya a siksa sampradaya? My understanding is as follows. Any sampradaya can be called simply sampradaya. There is no need to call ours exclusively a siksa sampradaya, as in certain quarters devotees are calling it. The siksa sampradaya proponents just took the parampara list given in Bhagavad-gita as It Is and started explaining that ours is a siksa line, siksa parampara, etc. New
Vedic Resources Dear Friends, Namaste and Hare Krishna. In our attempt to perceive the validity of Vedic culture in its spiritual and social ramifications and present that to others, we have added a new section to our website called "Recent Archeological Finds Confirming Vedic History." This is at: http://www.stephen-knapp.com. (Cut and paste that to your browser for immediate access.) Purshottam
Krishna das Leaves Body Dear Devotees, Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Shrila Prabhupada. Recently, a fully surrendered devotee of the Lord left this material world. He was the father of Vinod Vihari Das and Ananda Vardhanam prabhu of Malaga, Spain. Below is a brief summary of his auspicious departure. Although we know his departure was auspicious, still we want to request you all to pray for him, that all of his spiritual desires may be fulfilled and that he may be pleased upon us. Contact

Leaves from Puerto Rico
Hare Krsna. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada. Puerto Rico Temple (New Govardhan Hill) would like to offer the service of sending Tulasi leaves and manjaris to any temple that would like to have them. We have an abundance here and would like to facilitate the Deity worship of those temples who need them, through the winter months especially. The boxes will be approximately 18" X 18" and will be very full. We would also include some mogra flowers when available. Computer
and/or Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. Jaya Prabhupada! Dear devotees, Please, I need help to develop a simple idea. If you are good on computer, or Sanskrit, (or both) and want to do some service, I could use the help. The idea is to design on computer, song boards that will be made at a sign company. The basic song will have the regular verses in one color, and between the verse lines, in a more subtle color, and in smaller print, the English word equivalent. I have done tests with devotees, and they say that there is more feeling in their singing of our morning songs, when they can understand the meaning (at a glance) of each word as they go. Also, my idea is that it will help new devotees, as well as congregational people who visit the temples, to understand and sing with more devotion.
Welcome
to Dipika.org Hare Krsna. Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Welcome to the new web site. It seems that Madhusudani dasi and I just could not agree on how to run Chakra. Since Chakra was registered in her name, she took the site, with my agreement, and went somewhere else with it. |
