"Dreams Coming True"
After the difficulties we went through on July 7, I started having nightmares every night. One evening, after a week, I talked about it with Sri Prahlada das. "It's been a long time since I had a Krsna conscious dream," I said. "Since the tour started in May, I've only been dreaming of war or being chased or having to hide. I know it's the result of preaching in a society often opposed to what we do, but I wish there were some relief, at least in sleep."
"I know how you feel," said Sri Prahlada. "I've been having some bad dreams lately as well, but things will change when we go to the Woodstock festival in a couple of weeks."
All Glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga!

Dear Kusakratha Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am very sorry to hear that you are facing more complications with regard to your physical body. You are using this devastating illness to show the world how to be a surrendered soul of Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama.

Hare Krsna! Please accept my sincere respects and good wishes.
The tragic killer hurricane that devastated the Mississippi and Louisiana coastlines also left its mark on New Talavan and the cow protection program.
Although the cowherd survived the storm, the future is questionable. Downed fences are the biggest problem. Because so many trees were blown over, naturally many fell on fences and houses. Consequently, our fence system suffered much damage.
Daruka prabhu, with his devotee "SWAT team," braved the flooded highways and the outlaws with rifles to drive his semi truck to New Orleans and pick up the New Orleans devotees and the presiding Deities—Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Sri Sri Caitanya Nityananda, and Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva, Subhadra. Everyone is safe, and the Deities are being worshiped in Kalachandji Dham, Dallas.
Your servant behind the camera,
Pandava.

The Mayapur Festival Committee is planning to celebrate next year's Gaura Purnima festival in a grand way. Next year is the 500th anniversary of Lord Gauranga's starting His sankirtana movement and the 40th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's starting ISKCON. In this connection, the Festival Committee has printed two brochures. One has all the festival details and the other has the sponsorship details.
You can find the full details about the Mayapur Gaura Purnima Festival 2006 at www.mayapur.info. If you plan to go to Mayapur for next year's festival please read the following details from the brochures:
Sorry, it's a little late, but we were very busy with Srila Prabhupada's Vyasa Puja book, thus the delay.
This page may take a long time to download.

We got [the devotees] evacuated with the Deities. Everyone is fine, and the building is unscathed and unflooded.

Dear Devotees,
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, everyone has experienced the awesome reality of just how fragile our material existence is. Twelve hours of wind, some rain, a few tornadoes—and a major city is crippled, a community shattered, and opulent lifestyles destroyed for many, perhaps millions of people. Srila Prabhupada writes:
"In the grim clutches of maya, the first-class prisoners of this material world wrongly think themselves happy because they are rich, powerful, resourceful and so on...."
We invite all devotees to participate in the annual Brahmotsavam festival at the German Bavarian Farm. The program will start Friday September 9, 2005, with an opening ceremony (Vastu Shanti) and a special evening puja for Their Lordships Laksmi-Narasimhaswami (swinging the divine couple along with mantras and bhajans).

"Difficult lessons"
Our spring tour had been a success. We had put on 12 big festivals with a total attendance of over 60,000, so our spirits were high as we began the summer tour in early July along the Baltic Coast. Our ranks had swelled to over 220 devotees, filling to capacity the school we had rented in Siemys'l, a village of 300 people.
The school would be our base for the summer, and the villagers welcomed us with waves and warm smiles, in sharp contrast to their mood last summer. I asked Nandini dasi, about the change.
The devotees of New Navadvipa Dhama in Honolulu, Hawaii, regret to inform the Vaisnava community of the passing of Aniruddha Prabhu.
Aniruddha Prabhu was born Alvin Knaiger in Brooklyn, New York, in 1940. As an adult, he moved to the West Coast and eventually to San Francisco, where he met Srila Prabhupada in Golden Gate Park in the spring of 1967. He was immediately attracted to Krishna Consciousness and became a devout follower, serving at the new Fredrick Street temple.

Dear Devotees,
Hare Krsna! Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri Nrsimhadeva!
On Monday August 29 ISKCON New Talavan and ISKCON New Orleans were hit by Hurricane Katrina, a devastating Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 175 MPH. The eye of the storm came ashore near Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, and passed within 10 miles of New Talavan.
Dear Devotees,

Thank you for all your concern and help. We are overwhelmed and cannot always answer your emails. But that doesn't mean we don't care. We just have a lot of pressing concerns right now to manage our community. Tomorrow Ramakeli Prabhu is going to Jackson to arrange for supplies for the devotees. We are getting some help from Food For Life also. So by Krsna's grace everything is working out.
To the residents of New Talavana Dham,
Per your request, I called FEMA today at about 1:00 pm your time. I shared with them your needs and also the important services you are providing to the community at large. They took all the information and told me they will be looking into it as well as passing it along to the Red Cross.
Dear Maharajas, GBCs, Temple Presidents, Web & Magazine Editors, and Other Devotees,
Hare Krsna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
The power of the Lord's external energy is inconceivable. How one storm can destroy the social structure of an area ranging from 50 miles west of New Orleans all the way to Mobile, Alabama is stunning. In Mississippi, everything from Jackson on south is devastated. There are no commerce, transportation, or other normal activities going on.
Despite our good fortune to have our temples in both New Orleans and New Talavan emerge relatively unscathed, the harsh reality is that there is no functioning society around us. The devotees in New Orleans are virtually trapped.
