"The Frowning Girl"
One day, when Monika was seven years old, she surprised her mother. "Mommy," she said, "I believe in reincarnation."
"Really?" said her mother, a devout Roman Catholic. "Where did you ever get such an idea? Certainly you haven't learned this in church."
"I don't know, Mommy," Monika said. "But I know it's true. After we die, we are born again."
My dear devotees,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
By now you must have heard the shocking news of a terrible accident involving a young devotee, the daughter of Srimati Mahadevi, a faithful disciple of Srila Prabhupada. Mahadevi, Goura Prema, and her older sister, Caitanya, all went to India where Goura, a very accomplished dancer, was going to study classical Indian dance. On the streets of New Delhi, in the heroic act of saving her sister's life from an onrushing car, she was herself run over and her legs were severely injured.
After the Woodstock Festival, I spent a day in the Berlin temple, where I took these photos of Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama. They are the Deities of a household and were staying for some days at the temple.

Govinda's Restaurant in downtown Philadelphia, PA, is expanding its operation and now conducting interviews for an experienced, full-time cook. The restaurant caters to the large vegan community in Philadelphia and serves both vegan and vegetarian prasadam.
On the last day of the Woodstock Festival, Tara Dasa and Radha Sakhi Vrnda Devi Dasi were married on the main stage of Krsna's Village of Peace.

The Ithaca Regional Rainbow Gathering, located this summer in Finger Lakes National Forest, is a great event that the ISKCON Krishna Camp will be flooding with prasadam, books, and Krishna kirtan.
It is ISKCON's sincere desire to continue to expand North America's largest outreach event, so please come and participate for a week of chanting, dancing, and feasting.
Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I have just put up the site for a Krishna Conscious E-Zine, The Age of Kali: a zine for spritual awareness in a materialistic society. http://www.ageofkali.com/
I would like to hear devotees' opinions and feedback.
Dear Devotees and Friends,
We cordially invite you, your family, and your friends to take part in the wonderful Swing Festival (Jhulan-Yatra) of Sri Sri Radha Govinda. This sweet festival is one of the best, as everyone is allowed a chance to perform direct service to the Deities by swinging them back and forth on an ornate swing.
[The original report of the accident comes at the end of this article. I regret that I could not post it previously because of being offline.—Umapati Swami]
Dear Devotees,
Hare Krsna! Here's an update on the condition of the devotees from the New Orleans temple who were involved in Monday's tragic accident:
Divya Gopal and Mathura Krsna Prabhus are out of the hospital and flew back to New Orleans yesterday. Topi Krsna and Uttama Prabhus will be released and will be flying home today.
