Please, no more replies to Hrdayananda Maharaja's letter about gay monogamy. I've had my fill, and I have to say that I am amazed at the hysteria this little letter has generated. True, there have been thoughtful replies on both sides, but I can't stomach any more of these long-winded, moralizing, sermonizing, holier-than-thou tirades.
Maharaja simply stated a problem—how can we help homosexuals who cannot accept celibacy?—and he proposed a solution. If you don't like his solution, fine with me, but why not just discuss it? If you think Maharaja has deviated too far from Srila Prabhupada's instructions, why not just give a gentle reminder? If you think all gays should be shipped off to Siberia, why not just say so? If you think the subject is too horrible to mention, then why even reply?

Can't we just discuss things like the intelligent people we keep saying we are?
I will try to gradually post the rest of the thoughtful and not-too-nasty replies. As for me, I am amused at how my reputation has gone from gay basher to gay-rights fanatic overnight, and all because of one little letter.
