All glories to
Srila Prabhupada! |
Everybody Should Go
Back to Godhead

Hare Krsna. Please accept my most humble
obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I'm 23 years old, and homosexuality and
promiscuity were not considered amazing in
my youth. So after reading the articles
posted by Hridayananda das Goswami and
Umapati Swami, I can't understand what the
problem is.
We are part of an already degraded
society. We shouldn't forget this and act as
if this has nothing to do with us. As
devotees we don't want to water down the
standards or principles, because we
understand that the result won't be the
same. But what's the object of all the rules
and regulations we have? What's the purpose
of ISKCON?
Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but as
far as I know, it is to help people to get
close to God and reestablish that relation
which already exists between the jiva and
Krsna but has been forgotten by us.
Every living entity has a relationship
with Krsna, and if someone has developed
enough intelligence to appreciate this, then
the people in a more advanced stage
spiritual life should first of all be amazed
because today it is really hard to find a
soul like that, and second, help him the
person along this path of self realization.
(The self has nothing to do with the
different illusions that come with the
body.)

In order to reestablish
this relation, one has to undergo a process
of purification. Promiscuity, like gambling,
drugs, and so on, is a sign of an
uncivilized society and should thus be left
aside.
There's no difference between dog stool
and cat stool, and in the same way, gambling
is not better than promiscuity, and a person
who controls his genitals but not his tongue
is not free from the material modes.
But can we force somebody to do it? It's
supposed to be spontaneous, but we're
confident that people can do it.
Why? Because we have something better to
offer. Why will a person stop eating meat?
Because prasadam is better. And he can
understand this because he has accepted that
this food is a remnant left by Krsna. This
is the process of personal advancement.
Krsna Consciousness is the best we can
offer to anybody. If we can see over the
weakness and truly help a sincere person,
what's the problem with this?
It doesn't matter—our own perception of
how things should be, what we like, and what
we don't. The absolute Truth is absolute
because it is one. Everybody should go back
to Godhead.
Thank you very much.
Please excuse my English. I'm from
Argentina. Please excuse my offenses.
I'm your servant,
