Amrta Vani: Nectar of Instruction for ImmortalityPosted Dec. 6, 2004We are pleased to announce the release of this new book, Amrta Vani: Nectar of Instruction for Immortality. The book is a compilation of all the vital instructions of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura in question-and-answer format. This book is the answer to the prayers of many nectar-seeking devotees who have been hankering to drink the immortal nectarean instructions given by His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada. The book provides answers to all previously unanswered questions and provides deep illumination into the philosophy and practice of Krishna consciousness.
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura (1874-1937) was the son of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, appearing in answer to his father's prayer as the Thakura worked tirelessly to reform Gaudiya Vaisnavism and to prove its preeminence among world religions. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura took up his father's mission, and he both preached the conclusive truths of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's teachings and tasted the sweetness of pure devotion himself. During his lifetime, he initiated thousands of disciples and gave thousands of hours of careful and compassionate instructions. This book provides a compendium of those instructions. Like the Bhaktivinoda Vani Vaibhava volumes that have preceded it, Amrta Vani is presented in a question-and-answer format. It was compiled by Sri Bhakti Mayukha Bhagavata Maharaja, one of Sarasvati Thakura's disciples. Following the system designed by the compiler of Bhaktivinoda Vani Vaibhava, Bhagavata Maharaja posed questions, then found the responses amid Srila Sarasvati Thakura's lectures and his essays and other writings. The Caitanya-caritamrta states, "Krishna is so merciful that simply by aiming His instructions at Arjuna, He has given protection to the whole world." When those same instructions come through Krishna's pure devotee, one cannot measure the benefit. It is said that by associating for even a moment with a pure devotee one can attain all success in spiritual life. This book provides yet another opportunity for such association. We spent a considerable amount of time in the preparation of this book. It has been printed by one of the best printers in India, the famous Thomson Press of New Delhi. Great care and attention was given to making this book a very attractive offering. It was printed on a very high-quality high-grade maplitho wood-free paper. It is in 9-inch by 6-inch format. The books have bookmark ribbons, full-color dust jackets over a gold-embossed hard cover, and excellent binding, with each book shrink-wrapped. Please visit our website www.touchstonemedia.com for information on getting a copy or copies of the book, or write to me at isvara_99@yahoo.com.
