Suharto Donates Posted November 20, 2004 Everyone has heard of Mr. Suharto, the former president of Indonesia. He was the longest-standing national ruler in the world until deposed a few years ago. He was powerful, rich, and famous. Now he is sick and isolated. But Lord Caitanya, Patita Pavana, has reached out to him. Although Mr. Suharto is a follower of Islam, he passed laws that were tolerant of other religions and allowed Islamic people to become Hindus or Christians. He installed a 16-meter-long Partha Sarathi statue in the city of Jakarta.
Recently his Indian doctor advised him to donate a cow to our Sri Sri Radha-Govinda Mandira, and he did. He gave a pregnant cow named Kalindi. She has left her body, but her calf is living happily in our goshala.
The photos are self-explanatory. He wanted to give many cows, but we would not have the means to feed them. © dipika.org November 20, 2004 |
