Brazil: A Preaching Revolution By Lilananda Dasa, Lalita Priya Devi Dasi, and Bhakta Ivan Salles Posted October 27, 2004 "Brazil?" you ask. "Where is Brazil on the map, anyway?" Well, you will be hearing more from us from now on. There is a preaching revolution going on in Brazil, perhaps the greatest, most significant ISKCON has seen since the 60s and 70s. Nando Reis, a famous Brazilian singer inspired by George Harrison, has taken Krishna consciousness and the chanting of Hare Krishna to a level never heard before. Winter Beadbags Posted October 26, 2004 Hare Krishna. Namonamah. Jaya Srila Prabhupada. Winter is almost here, but your outdoor japa walks do not have to end. I am now making polar-fleece beadbags. They are fully enclosed with an attached finger glove and a ribbed jacket-style wrist cuff. I can make your beadbag in children's, women's, or men's sizes and with a variety of beautiful fleece prints as well as solid colors (including saffron).

Book Distribution: Upcoming Events By Vaisesika dasa (ACBSP) Posted October 25, 2004 Eight years ago, during the centennial of Srila Prabhupada's appearance, devotees all over the globe rallied to distribute more of Srila Prabhupada's books in one year than at any other time in history. Now that we've reached the 108th anniversary of the appearance of His Divine Grace, devotees everywhere are pulling out all the stops again in an effort to distribute mass quantities of his books. Vijaya dasa, ISKCON's Minister of Book Distribution, has been encouraging devotees to set their sights on the goal of distributing more books this year than ever before, surpassing even the record numbers that were posted in 1996.
on the From Parvati devi dasi Posted October 21, 2004 Dear Prabhus and Maharajas, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. There are many devotees who experience this kind of depression. This is due to all kinds of reasons, including false ceilings we tend to set up for ourselves. Recently we had an experience with a very dedicated devotee who had an accident, didn't chant his rounds for a couple days while hospitalized and in dire straits, and mentally flagellated himself for the better part of the year progressively into a catatonic depression. Diary of a Posted October 20, 2004 September 25 - October 15, 2004 "Blood Brothers" As I continued my travels throughout Russia, crisscrossing from city to city, I wrote to my astrologer friend, who had warned me not to set foot in the country at that time. I told him I had not experienced any life-threatening situations apart from the usual austerities in traveling. His reply came quickly: "It is a six-week transit, from September 16 to November 1. The final weeks will be the most difficult. Let me remind you, it is not a time to be traveling, while Mars is in your eighth house." Forwarded by the GBC EC Posted October 19, 2004 From the EC: Dear devotees, Please accept our most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. We are informing you, as the below posted letter indicates, that HG Prithu Prabhu wishes to resign from his services, both as member of the Governing Body of ISKCON and as an initiating spiritual master. Therefore the GBC are making arrangements to help all those affected by his resignation, and we thank him for all his service and look forward to his continuing to serve in whatever capacity he can in the future. We also wish him the best regarding his health and welfare. Diary of a Traveling Preacher Volume 5, Chapter 27 By Indradyumna Swami Posted October 16, 2004 September 12 - 24, 2004 "My Chest Swells Up With Pride" This year's summer tour was especially successful, with over 300,000 people all together visiting our programs, including the Woodstock festival. It was a sad moment indeed when the tour came to an end and most of the devotees packed up and headed home to return to school or work. Even sadder, we had to cancel our autumn tour because of a lack of funds, so I decided to go to Russia for a month and visit a number of temples, some of which I had not been to in years. of a September 11, 2004 Vyasa Puja Offering 2004 Dear Srila Prabhupada, Please accept my most humble obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Your Divine Grace. I have traveled a great distance to be with your devotees here at New Vraja Dhama in Hungary for this wonderful event. By the Lord's grace alone I have come just in time to relish the last moments of this day. Because this community is so much like the eternal abode of Goloka, both in form and in mood, I feel as if I've come back to the spiritual world, to your eternal home at the lotus feet of your beloved Radhe-Syama.
Srila Prabhupada Posted October 12, 2004 His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada built a house in which the whole world can live. Many fortunate souls have taken shelter in that house and become a part of the ISKCON family, especially while Srila Prabhupada was on this planet. Since that time, however, for various reasons, some members have not been as actively involved as they once were.
Salagram
in Scotland Some time back there was a discussion regarding the Salagram worship in Scotland. In my opinion, the Lord in His Salagram Sila form is happy there. I am enclosing a photo of Their Lordships, and another of how the Lord, as Caitanya Mahaprabhu, has shown His pleasure by manifesting in the form of about one million books. The books are all prepaid, and the distribution is big. Call out "Gauranga!" and be happy. krsne matir astu.
New
Temple in Fiji Dear devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Sorry for the late reporting of the opening of the new temple in Fiji last week. The installation and opening was highly successful with thousands of guests and devotees from all over Fiji and other countries. Media coverage was widespread in both the print and television media. From Dhamesvar Gaura das Posted October 9, 2004 Dear Vaishnavas, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga! In cooperation with the BBT and under its patronage, we have started a Sastra-dana project, The Polish Gita Library Fund to collect donations for printing 10,000 copies of Bhagavad Gita and distribute them free to all the public libraries in Poland. Every five dollars of your donation will allow one copy of Bhagavad Gita to be placed in one public library, with the effect (statistically) that from two to twenty persons every year will borrow and read Bhagavad Gita and thus have their first contact with Sri Krishna's message to the fallen souls of Kali-yuga.
Gangamayee: She Flew
Dear Assembled Vaisnavas, Hare Krsna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, to our respective gurus, and to our guru varga. Please accept my fallen obeisances. May Srimati Radharani give us service at the lotus feet of Her servants. Upon my requests to various devotees concerning the details of Gangamayee Mataji's leaving the planet, the following letter written by Annada Mataji who was present for our Godsister's exit/entrance, was forwarded to me by one of my Godsisters, so I am submitting this to the assembled Vaisnavas.

On September 15 we celebrated HH Sridhar Swami's Vyasa-puja in Sri Dham Mayapur. Although no initiated disciples of Sridhar Swami were present, the attendance was large. Many devotees came and glorified Sridhar Swami. In addition, Srila Prabhupada's disciples told of their remembrances of him.

after Mangal Arati Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Here are pictures of Utsav Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and Sri Caitanya Candra, after whom our ISKCON Mayapur temple is named— Sri Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir. The photos were taken right after mangala arati, when the Deities were brought to the back of the altar of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and were waiting for Their morning bath.
The Passing of Hare Krishna Prabhu! Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Are you aware that Shyama Dasi left her body in her home on the morning of San Francisco Ratha-yatra? One of her sons went to her home in Sebastopol, California, (my home town as well) to bring her to Ratha-yatra and found her dead on the floor. From Harinaam Anand Dasa Posted October 3, 2004 Hare Krishna Prabhu's and Mataji's, We need some help from devotees who might be coming from London to Mumbai (India). We have ordered some books and CDs from Indradyumna Swami's tape ministry, Walthamstow, London. If anyone is coming to Mumbai, India, I would like to request him or her to bring the small parcel so that we can save some laksmi on the postage. The saved laksmi will be used in the service of Sri Radha Kund, Govardhan, Vrindavan. Please email me at HarishM81@yahoo.com [Article complete on this page except for signature] by Siddhanta dasa Posted October 2, 2004 Dear Prabhus, It is with great pleasure that we share with the world Mulaprakriti’s Memories of Srila Prabhupada. Two weeks before she departed this world for the spiritual world, Mulaprakriti devi dasi sat down for an interview and shared with us her direct experiences with Srila Prabhupada as well as remembrances she collected over the last few years of Prabhupada’s associates before he came to the West. From Suresvara dasa Posted October 2, 2004 Just returned home from extensive traveling to find Manjari Mataji's notice about Mulaprakrti Mataji's passing. Again I am sobered that another devotee of my generation, so vital and vibrant, is no longer with us. Manjari's remark about Mula Prakrti's million-dollar smile said it all. As Srila Prabhupada once wrote, "The smile of such a Krsna conscious person is so attractive that simply by smiling he wins so many admirers, disciples and followers." (SB 3.22.21 purport)
