Poland Diary of a Traveling Preacher By Indradyumna Swami Posted July 27, 2004 June 28 - July 10, 2004 "On the House" I flew back to Poland from Baku, and as soon as I arrived, the tour committee held its last meeting for the summer festivals. The first order of business was security. "I found three security companies we can choose from," Jayatam began. "Which one we take depends on Srila Gurudeva's recent collection." All eyes turned towards me. I hesitated. "Well ...," I said, "ummm ... actually, I didn't bring anything back. I spent the week in Azerbaijan with my disciples. It's a poor country, but we had some great programs."
Gangamayi Devi Dear Assembled Vaisnavas, Hare Krsna. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada, to our respective gurus, and to our guru varga. Please accept my fallen obeisances. Although I was not present for this Godsister's departure, and did not know her very well other than meeting and speaking with her some two times very briefly, I feel I should inform the devotees that Gangamayi Mataji, one of Srila Prabhupada's daughters from England, left the planet around two weeks ago.
Mula Prakriti Devi Respected Vaisnavas, On July 12, 2004, at 8:26 a.m., at the MVT in Vrindavana, our dear Godsister and friend, Mula Prakriti, gloriously departed from this world. Last September, during a stay in Vrindavana, Mula was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After a courageous battle with the disease, she returned to this spiritual home Srila Prabhupada has given us all in order to leave her body. Those of you who know Mula Prakriti will remember the intensity with which she lived her life. She had a burning desire to serve Srila Prabhupada by preaching. She joined ISKCON in Los Angeles in 1973, and in the early years, shot to the top of the book distribution charts, distributing literally hundreds of thousands of books all over the United States and Japan and collecting millions of dollars for Srila Prabhupada’s projects. Posted July 21, 2004 Toronto's 32nd Rathayatra was a great success. The parade began at noon on Saturday July 17 at the Toronto Reference Library and traveled down Yonge St. to the lake, where the festivities continued at Centre Island for the remainder of the weekend. Posted July 20, 2004 All Glories to Jayananda Prabhu, All Glories to Srila Prabhupada, All Glories to Lord Jagannath! On Sunday July 25, 2004, the Seventh Annual Rathayatra — Festival of Chariots will take place in Detroit, Michigan. My father, who is quite old and weak, has been doing badly with his health for quite a long time. Finally he was diagnosed with a large, 10-year-old stone in his gallbladder. Because the stone is so large, the only option left is to remove the whole gallbladder. The operation will be done soon.
Bonjour France
Diary of a Traveling Preacher June 17 - 27, 2004 "The City of Doom and the Temple of Fire" The second half of our spring tour was going well, and I was looking forward to the final program, to be held in Olsztyn in the north. Though our tour had been marred by run-ins with rougher elements of society, no real damage had been done and the festivals had brought good results. The congregation had been strengthened, and many people had been introduced to Krsna consciousness, some of them potential devotees. Olsztyn would be the icing on the cake. It wasn't to be, however. Disaster struck in a very personal way, halfway through the program. It would be one of my darker days.
A Gift for You Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! I wish to share this picture of Lord Chaitanya with you. This photo was put before some forums of photographers (karmi) and received high marks by them.
Diary of a Traveling Preacher June 13 - 16, 2004 "Counting my Blessings" After leaving Kielce, where we successfully defended our festival against right-wing extremists, we arrived back in Warsaw at midnight. I fell asleep by 1:00 a.m., but woke up at 4:00 because of a terrible nightmare, where I dreamt skinheads broke through the barrier of security men and beat up the devotees. I sat up on my bed, wide awake, unable to forget the drama of the previous day. I thought about a lecture I had recently heard by Srila Prabhupada where he mentioned that in days of yore people often dreamt about the Lord because of their constant engagement in His service and meditation upon His lotus feet:

For me, the most blissful aspect of the Panca Tattva installation was seeing HH Sridhar Swami bathing Lord Nityananda. His embrace was so tender and sublime and truly loved... Summer Camp Summer is here, and it is time for fun and games for children. As in previous years, ISKCON Chicago is offering a two-week day camp for children 4 to 13 years old. We have put in a lot of thought in organizing this program to meet with the spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of your children. This year's theme will be based on the 14th Chapter of Bhagavad-Gita "The Three Modes of Material Nature." Children will learn the essence of the chapter via PowerPoint® presentations, reciprocal chanting, memorization of verses, dramas, skits, story-telling, puppet shows, cooking projects, discussions, and more. Dates: Aug. 2-6 and 9-13, 2004

From Deena Bandhu dasa Posted July 2, 2004 The sound of the 14-inch brass bell peals across the waters of Vrinda Kunda and then beyond the borders across fields parched by the relentless Indian summer sun. The Vrinda Kunda area is set like an emerald among these empty fields. Three irridescent green English flycatchers perform their acrobatics just above the cool green waters. Two kokilas, madly in love, warble on the fifth note as they flit from tree to tree. The kingfisher reveals himself like a flash of bright blue lightning as he dives from the edge of the ghat to the water. The sandstone temple, shaded by the luxurious foliage of the sami tree, reflects in the waters. The beautiful sunlight reflections play over the floral motifs on the carved sandstone.
