Posted September 29, 2003 Sri Radhastami: The sweetest festival by far, this year's Radhastami Celebration at Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, was a day to remember. Starting with the auspicious mangal arati ceremony, Sri Sri Radha Govinda's Temple was alive with excitement as the devotees gathered to greet Srimati Radharani on Her transcendental birthday. The Deities wore one of Their new night dresses, custom made in Vrindavan, India. Web
Design for By Jitakrodha das Posted September 29, 2003 As a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, I have always had a strong desire to utilize my talents in technology to assist in spreading Krishna Consciousness. Indeed, as I make attempts to be more commercial, in line with mainstream America, Krishna always manages to turn my attention back to service. In the present day of a community based varnashrama society, it is not always possible to offer complete seva. One still has to maintain house and home as well as computer systems, servers, and internet connections. Upon serious consideration, I have thought of offering a web-technologies service based on monthly pricing that includes domain names, hosting, custom design, and regular updates for non-profit organizations. By Janakirama dasa Posted September 29, 2003 Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I will be in Mayapura from January 1 until April doing research as part of my Ph.D. thesis on Vaishnavism and science. I need to rent a furnished room, with accommodations suited for a Westerner (hot water, AC, heat, etc.), in a quiet location. If any one has or knows of a room or apartment for rent, please let me know. Thank you. By Vrindavan Lila Devi Dasi Posted September 29, 2003 Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Does anyone have a good digital camera in good condition for sale (/donation)? My digital camera is very old now (a few years of extensive use) and I need a new one soon (before I don't have one any more). Bhakti Sastri at Radhadesh, 2004 From Bhakta Rabin Posted September 27, 2003 Dear devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! We would like to invite you all to attend the VTE (Vaisnava Training and Education) Bhakti Sastri Course next year in Radhadesh, Belgium. The details are as follows. Date: February 23rd, 2004 – June 18th, 2004 Teachers: Brazil: Rock Star Welcomes Devotees By Giridhari Das Posted September 27, 2003 Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. We had a nice program here in Brasília, Brazil, and I thought I'd tell you about it. The largest rock festival in the history of Brasília is taking place this weekend, and one of the main bands is The Pretenders. Last Wednesday I got a call from the event organizers telling me that the leader of the band, Ms Chrissie Hynde, wanted to get together with the Hare Krishnas to do a pro-vegetarian media-op. It was held today. From Mahamaya dasi Posted September 27, 2003 Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! I am sending a true copy from Vedabase of part of the famous letter of April 28, 1974, to Rupanuga Prabhu (then Maharaja). The last section of this paragraph specifically instructs him (and all of ISKCON because Srila Prabhupada writes, "This is my instruction to you all") not to associate with Srila Prabhupada's Godbrothers:

Lalita Devi's Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! On Tuesday the 2nd of August, we celebrated Srimati Lalita Devi's Appearance Day. I am sending a few photos of the Deities. It is by the mercy of Lalita Devi upon all living entities separated from Sri Sri Radha-Madhava that the pastime of creating Navadvipa took place. So we are all praying for Her mercy to be able to stay in Mayapur and be able to do some service to Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and Pancha-tattva.
Temple
Inauguration & Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami Gurudeva. We had a four-day festival including the temple inauguration, the celebration of Janmastam, and conferences on yoga, other paths of liberation, African culture, and avataras. The Lome temple in Togo is barely eight months old, with only three resident devotees. The temple inauguration attracted over 250 guests and members. The two-day conference registered between 70 to 80 participants each day, and the Big Day, Sri Krishna Janmastami, had a record crowd of about 500 guests. By Jagattarini dasi Posted September 25, 2003 Hare Krishna and thank you to the different devotees who have written with suggestions and prayers or concerns in regard to a plea for help with a terminally sick devotee friend, Suci Rani from here in Perth, Australia, whom I have been trying to take to Brazil. We have now arranged all our flights. Why
Propagate One's By Damana Krishna Dasa Posted September 25, 2003 Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I find it sad that instead of discussing Krishna katha there is a tendency coming up to make a philosophy out of our weaknesses. Everyone has some karmic weakness may this be homosexuality, addiction to some other sense gratification, a tendency to criticize, weak sadhana, lack of taste for spiritual life. The

Anantadeva! Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! On the morning of the Ekadasi after Janmastami, the pujari of Lord Nrisimhadeva got a surprise during the bathing of the Salagram shilas. The middle of the oldest shila of Anantadeva came off in his hand. The top middle piece came out as a separate Ananta shila, small in size yet carved as Anantadeva. The pujari informed Jananivasa and Pankajanghri Prabhus. When Jananivasa Prabhu took the original Ananta shila in his hand to examine His state, another small shila came out of the middle part on the bottom of the original shila. (See photos.)

Last August, this Rathayatra was only a dream in my head. I was the only one working on it and planning the event, and I was far away in Russia. Now by the grace of Krishna, there are many devotees helping to make it a reality: Naraharideva and Bhakta Jesse prabhus from Grand Rapids are preparing the Rathayatra tee shirts for the devotees. Cancer:
Help Us Get to Brazil Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. I am writing with a lot of concern for a devotee friend whom I live with here in Perth. She has rapidly advancing cancer, and I have been advised by Bhanu Swami and by my husband and others to find out how to take her to see Joao de Deus in Brazil, whom Sridhar Swami went to see. The problem, naturally, is for two women traveling, Suci and I, without knowing the language, and so on. Her condition is so serious that we have no time to delay. By Bhakti devi dasi Posted September 22, 2003 Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I have been wondering about the color of Radha and Krsna's eyes, as we have ordered marble Radha Krsna Deities from Jaipur, and They are going to be installed in our preaching center very soon. I have been confused as to what color to paint Their eyes, as some ISKCON Deities have brown eyes and others blue, especially Radha. Urmila's Father Leaves Body From Vyenkata Bhatta dasa Posted September 22, 2003 Dearest Devotees, It is with great sadness that we report that earlier today, September 20, 2003, H.G. Urmila Mataji's beloved father left his body. We offer our deepest condolences to Urmila Mataji and her family at this difficult time. Mr. Bernard Manischewitz passed away quietly in his home in northern New Jersey. Mr.. Manischewitz was favorable towards Krishna consciousness and appreciative of his daughter's involvement with the worldwide Hare Krishna movement. In fact, he became an ISKCON Life Member directly under Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada's Appearance Day in Mayapur Text and photos by Vrindavan Lila Devi Dasi Posted September 22, 2003 Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Here are some photos I took on Srila Prabhupada's Appearance Day. I would especially like to show the Vyasa Puja book, which Mayapur devotees made by hand for Srila Prabhupada's pleasure. The entire operation was organized and supervised by Padmalochan das, and it was really well done this year.
Bhakta
dasa Vindicated Dear devotees, As many of you have heard, Bhakta das, an initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada, has been held on false charges, framed by corrupt police officers in Orissa for the past three years. In the latest court hearing two days ago, the arresting officer was finally in the witness box. He admitted that there was no evidence of the alleged crime having ever been actually committed by anyone; that Bhakta das's name was added to the charge later; that he (the police person) had not read the charge when the arrest was made but only when ordered to by the court three weeks later, he had it translated; that he did not know the complainants' permanent address and had no way of contacting them; and that he had made no effort to keep them in the country or to have them place any bond guaranteeing their appearance at the trial as required by law. LA Conference on Youth and Family by Chitra Gunderson Posted September 20, 2003 Los Angeles, CA – Older and younger generations will gather for open floor discussions around Hare Krishna youth and family issues from September 19 to 21 at the New Dvaraka temple prasadam hall here. This progressive conference will begin with a free Friday evening session "Demigods and Demons: Hare Krishna Kids and Unmet Expectations," which will feature a West Coast showing of the youth production "Burnt Laddu." After the film everyone can join a candid discussion with writer/producer Madi Brinkman and director Gaura Buchwald about the making of the film, addressing its emotional impact and the unmet expectations of growing up as Hare Krishna kids.

Vegetarian Day World Vegetarian Day: 1st October 2003 World Vegetarian Awareness Month: October World Vegetarian Day has been observed since 1977, bringing together vegetarians from all over the world for a common cause. It brings awareness to the ethical, environmental, health, and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. We're observing growing trends, especially since foot-and-mouth and mad cow diseases, but about one million people a year become vegetarians in the United States alone and millions in Europe and Australasia too.
Kartik
2003 in Vrindavan Now the time is coming again for us to gather in Srila Prabhupada's home and again churn and relish the nectar of his association. And this year, it's earlier than ever, starting on Oct. 10th. And now it's already mid-September, and it is still raining just like in July. Everything is clean, green, and fresh. Vrindavan is so beautiful this year it almost looks like the glimpses that Srila Prabhupada has given us in his Krishna Book. Talking about clean and fresh, the restoration of Krishna Balaram temple is going on full swing. We had to suspend the work during the festival season, but it has started again now. If for no other reason, you should come to Vrindavan just to see Krishna Balaram Temple the way Srila Prabhupada inaugurated it. Just yesterday, we saw some incredible designs revealed from underneath the paint. [Festival starts October 10.] From Deena Bandhu dasa Posted September 19, 2003 Unfortunately, we have to issue a warning to those coming to Vrindavan to disturb the spiritual atmosphere of the holy dham. The Intelligence Bureau has informed us that they are aware of certain people who misuse the Kartik Festival for trafficking in narcotics. They will have plainclothes officers on the lookout. The temple authorities also have a digital camera that will be used to photograph persons suspected of misusing the temple premises in this way, and they will turn the photos over to the concerned authorities and embassies. Please Keep the Kartik Festival Drug-Free. [Article complete on this page]

Supreme Creator Bhagavad-gita As It Is 7.6, purport First Edition: ...A fragmental part and parcel of the Lord, namely the living entity, may by manipulation of material energy construct a skyscraper, a factory, or city, but he cannot create matter out of nothing, and he certainly cannot construct a planet or a universe. The cause of the universe is the Supersoul, Krsna, the supreme creator of all individual souls and the original cause of all causes, as the Katha Upanisad (2.2.13) confirms. Nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam. Second Edition: . . . A fragmental part and parcel of the Lord, namely the living entity, may be the cause of a big skyscraper, a big factory, or even a big city, but he cannot be the cause of a big universe. The cause of the big universe is the big soul, or the Supersoul. And Krsna, the Supreme, is the cause of both the big and small souls. Therefore He is the original cause of all causes. This is confirmed in the Katha Upanisad (2.2.13). Nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam. Rathayatra In Niles, Michigan Our Hero Is Srila Prabhupada Posted September 16, 2003 Saturday Sept. 27, at 11:00 AM We will be holding our 2003 Jagannatha Rathayatra Festival in conjunction with the Annual Apple Festival Parade in Niles, Michigan. Niles, Michigan is just across the state line from South Bend, Indiana. This year's parade theme is Celebrate Our Heroes. Our hero is Srila Prabhupada, of course. Srila Prabhupada arrived in New York City on September 17th, 1965, and to commemorate this grand event, we are building a float in the form of the S.S. Jaladuta, the ship on which Srila Prabhupada sailed from India to America. Riding on the float will be the Hare Krishna Center's Jagannatha Deities along with a murti of Srila Prabhupada.
Kusakratha:
His Books and His Health I last saw Kusakratha prabhu at the end of July in Vrindavana (I have been back in Australia since August 4). He was thinner and the swelling on the lymph glands of his neck was visibly larger than when I saw him in February, at the time when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. His voice has continued to change somewhat also. Despite this, he is in very good consciousness and he is still quite active. He goes to the temple every day from his room near the Radha Raman temple to take prasadam with the devotees. By Krsna's mercy he was not in any pain when I saw him either. By Kavicandra Swami Posted September 12, 2003 [See "Ganga Ganga," dipika.org, May 6, 2003] Another transcendental place is Chatrabhogagrama. This is described in Caitanya Bhagavat, Antya Lila, as follows: 65. Overcome in separation from Goddess Ganga, and always thinking of her, Lord Siva came to that place. 66. Seeing Goddess Ganga at Chatrabhoga, Lord Siva was overwhelmed with love. 67. The moment he saw her, Lord Siva fell into the Ganga. Assuming a form of water, Siva mixed with the waters of the Ganga.
