Nrishimha
Caturdasi in Sri Mayapur By Tusti Mohan Krsna das Posted May 16, 2003 Dear devotees, Dandavat pranams. We had an extraordinary festival for Nrishimha Caturdasi at Sri Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir on May 15, 2003. We are sending a few photos from this transcendental event to share this nectar with you. Ugra Nrishimhadeva is a very active Deity in Mayapur and protects the preaching of Krishna Consciousness and the devotees around the world. Thousands of devotees come to Mayapur for this celebration. We had also a special yajna in the morning for this occasion. Yesterday, the devotees went in procession to the Ganges to bring water for the abhisheka. Today in the afternoon, we started with an oil abhisheka at 3:00 pm (altar closed), and then at 5:00 pm we started abhisheka with the altar open for the public, including live television projection with monitors in many places of the temple. There were offerings of milk, juices, honey, flowers, and all the other products as per the sastras and tradition, giving the best possible for this special event to Sri Sri Prahlada Nrishimhadeva Bhagavan. At the end we offered bhoga to the Lord and then had aratik. Sri Prahlada Nrishimhadeva Ki Jay! Your servant, For more photos please visit www.mayapur.info © dipika.org May 16, 2003 |
