The Solution to Our Difficulties By Radha Govinda dasa Posted April 25, 2003
Prabhus, A short note to state that Mother Radhanuga devi dasi, who wrote the wonderful article titled "On Fearless Preaching," is more than absolutely correct. In fact therein is the key to the solution to all of our difficulties, both as individuals and as a movement. Because we have given up the daily Sankirtan Yajna, we are not receiving the higher taste in order to give up the lower tastes. Therefore our consciousness remains materialized and automatically there will be bickering amongst ourselves, and all our energies become devoted to such, as opposed to dedicating our energies in giving Krsna to others. Unless we become serious in distributing freely Krsna to everyone without regard as to their qualifications or lack thereof, Krsna will not be inclined to give us His association, and then pandemonium ensues. As Brhan Naradiya Purana Ch.38, v.126 states quite emphatically, There is no other way, no other way,... If you may permit me to quote Srila Prabhupada: "It is always the difficulty with the karmis that they 'have no time' for attending spiritual functions or gatherings. Sukadeva Goswami analyzes the situation for the karmis in the narration of Bhagavatam as sleeping and indulging in sex-life in the night and in the daytime working hard 'Where is money? Where is money?'" and when they have got money, how to accumulate household paraphernalia, etc. Anyway, by the mercy of Lord Caitanya even such materially absorbed persons can be extricated from their entanglement in the maya by contact with offenseless chanting of the Lord's Holy Names Hare Krsna Mantra. If you vibrate these transcendental sounds everywhere continually, it will pierce their ears and enter their hearts, and then their natural attraction for Krsna will be revived. So do not care for the temporary excuses of the unwilling and unfortunate persons, you simply carry our program forward distributing Sankirtana, Prasadam and literatures and the effect will take place." (Ltr. to Bansidhari d.; Bombay Nov.16 1970) Please note that the above quoted also applies to us! We must become very diligent. I am begging one and all: Please let us take up, once again, this most wonderful Sankirtan Yajna and everyone's lives will become sublime. That is guaranteed. Hoping this meets you all well, Radha Govinda dasa [See "On Fearless Preaching," dipika.org, April 23, 2003] © dipika.org April 25, 2003 |
