Recently, while on Ganga Safari, we were fortunate to hear from His Grace Uttama Sloka Prabhu, regional secretary for the Ural region of the former Soviet Union. He is a blissful and powerful preacher, and he has many amazing stories to tell.

He described that he first heard about the Hare Krsnas by reading an anti-cult book that was published by the government. They stated that the Hare Krsnas were especially stupid since they just repeated the same words again and again. He thought there must be something to it and sought out the devotees.

He went on to say that in Russia, due to such propaganda there are many who criticize the Hare Krsna people. But due to their chanting Hare Krsna, many of those have become devotees.

I was inspired by this information so I am passing it on. I see too many who seem to be so worried about "bad public relations" or whatever, that they are becoming afraid to preach for fear of criticism. Of course if we are being criticized for criminal actions or something like that, we should change. But if they are simply criticizing our basic spiritual activities, we should be happy and carry on.
