Sri Rama Dasa Recovers Consciousness By Paradhyeya (das) Posted April 13, 2003
Dear devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances, all glories to Srila Prabhupada. Sri Rama Prabhu spent the first three days after his operation in apparent unconsciousness, then slowly he was able to recognize his wife, Narayani Mataji, and then others who went to visit him. It is obvious that diabetes has taken a significant toll on his health, and he is taking longer than would be normal for other people to respond to medication. However, from the point of view of an observer, it appears that he is making steady incremental progress day by day. Yesterday the doctors had him stand up for a brief while and then sit on a chair and make other movements. Today I was able to speak with him for the first time since he was admitted to hospital. It is not clear when he will be out of the intensive care unit or declared out of danger, but perhaps by Krishna's mercy and all your prayers it won't be long. Narayani Mataji spends almost all of her time by his side, except for sleeping, which she has to go home for. She is extremely grateful for all the prayers and pujas of all the devotees worldwide and humbly begs you all to continue in the same way.
