All glories to
Srila Prabhupada!

Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Please accept my obeisances, all the devotees who read this page.

My name is Bhakta Chris Matthews, and I am managing the ISKCON Atlanta prison ministries. We have recently been in contact and are working in conjunction with Chandrasekhara Prabhu of the main ISKCON prison ministries. We need devotees who would be willing to render service to Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada by corresponding with devotees that have been made by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada while incarcerated in our nation’s various penal institutions.

We have a skeleton crew of about eight devotees corresponding with close to two hundred incarcerated devotees. This is a perfect way for householders to preach in their spare time. I am an ex-convict myself who found Lord Chaitanya’s causeless mercy while serving an eight-year sentence in the department of corrections because of a morphine addiction of seventeen years.

I humbly beg all Vaishnavas to follow the desire of Lord Chaitanya and spread the teachings into every town and village: the county jails are small towns; the prisons, villages. We need help with correspondence. There are too many souls in prison not to reach out to. Most are searching for a way to alleviate their sufferings, and it is a shame that more Vaishnavas have not reached out to them in compassion.

We are hoping to get this message out to all devotees and in two years time to have devotees go hold kirtan and class and distribute prasadam to these suffering men and women. So please take compassion on these people as Srila Prabhupada did on us by bringing Lord Chaitanya’s sankirtana movement west.
